We Help You Choose The Right Tummy Tuck For You

Get your dream body figure after pregnancy or significant weight loss. Depending on your goals, there are five types of tummy tuck surgeries. They differ in their incisions, how much correction they offer, and the type of scars they leave.

Full Tummy Tuck

(Abdominoplasty)

A full tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty, is the most popular comprehensive type of tummy tuck. It involves a horizontal incision made between the hip bones, just above the pubic area. Excess skin and fat are removed, and the underlying muscles are tightened. This procedure is ideal for individuals with significant excess skin and weakened abdominal muscles, often resulting from pregnancy or substantial weight loss.

Mini Tummy Tuck

(Eliminate lower tummy pooch)

A mini tummy tuck targets the lower abdomen only and is less extensive than a full tummy tuck. The incision is smaller, typically just a few inches long, and located above the pubic area. This procedure focuses on removing excess skin and tightening muscles below the navel. It’s suitable for patients with a small amount of skin laxity and muscle weakness who do not need a full tummy tuck.

Extended Tummy Tuck

(Tightens the lower back and buttocks as well)

An extended tummy tuck addresses the abdomen as well as the flanks or love handles. The incision extends beyond the hips to include these areas, allowing for more extensive removal of excess skin and fat. This procedure is often recommended for individuals who have undergone significant weight loss and have loose skin around the abdomen, sides, and back.

Fleur-de-Lis Tummy Tuck

(Maximum tightening after significant weight loss)

The fleur-de-lis tummy tuck is a specialized procedure that involves both a horizontal and a vertical incision. This allows for the removal of a larger amount of skin and is particularly beneficial for patients who have lost a significant amount of weight and have excess skin both horizontally and vertically. The result is a more contoured and toned midsection.

Panniculectomy

(Apron removal)

A panniculectomy is primarily a functional surgery rather than a cosmetic one. It involves the removal of the pannus, or apron of excess skin and fat that hangs over the lower abdomen. Unlike a traditional tummy tuck, it does not involve muscle tightening or navel reconstruction repositioning. This procedure is often performed on patients who have lost a significant amount of weight and have excess skin that causes discomfort or hygiene issues.

“From start to finish, even better than expected! I had a tummy tuck and Dr. Schwartz did an amazing job! Day surgery, home that night, post-op zoom follow up, office follow ups, and healing have gone phenomenally. My stomach is flat, even better than pre-baby! My belly button is so natural and the scar is flat and fading. I love how my clothes fit! I love my stomach again and can even wear a bikini if I want. You won’t be disappointed with the expertise and results from Dr Schwartz”

I have been so impressed with every minute of my experience with Dr. Schwartz and his staff… Dr. Schwartz spent so much time with me walking through my goal photos and explaining how he would achieve those results for me… His skill at achieving the best results in the best way is obvious in my recovery where I was fully prepared to be in so much pain and barely functioning based on everything I had read but I was up moving around and comfortable almost immediately after surgery. I am so thankful for the amazing care alive received and already thrilled with my results! I cannot recommend Dr. Schwartz enough!”
